Karuna Reiki

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a relaxation and stress reduction healing technique that was discovered in Japan by Mikao Usui in 1922. According to the laws of physics, everything in the universe is comprised of energy, including humans, plants, animals, and even rocks! In Japanese, Rei means ‘higher power,’ and Ki means ‘life force energy,’ which essentially means Reiki is “spiritually guided life force energy.” The terms ‘chi’ (China) or ‘prana’ (India) also describe this very same life force energy that flows through us. Reiki practitioners have been attuned to receive this healing energy and transfer it through their hands on to the client.

Chakras – Our Body’s Energy Centers

The body is comprised of 7 primary energy centers called Chakras (Crown, Third Eye, Throat, Heart, Solar Plexus, Sacral, & Root), which you may have heard of in a yoga class. Chakras can become blocked as a result of stress or emotional/physical trauma.

A past traumatic experience can get ‘stuck’ in our energy fields, because we push those feelings way down as a defense mechanism to forget about the event and protect our hearts.

However, this can cause an imbalance of energy flow, which can then manifest into physical symptoms.

Reiki works on a deep level to clear those mental/emotional/spiritual blockages and balances the chakras, allowing us to live the free, peaceful, joyful, and harmonious lives we were meant to live!

What is Karuna Reiki?

Karuna Reiki is a special form of traditional Usui Reiki and was channeled by Spirit to several Reiki Masters to provide an evolved form of healing that adapts to our modern world and current cosmic energy. This form of Reiki is overseen by the enlightened being, Kuan Yin, whose purpose is to help relieve suffering from trauma. “Karuna” is translated to mean “any action that is taken to diminish the suffering of others” and “compassionate action.”
